Pledging is a simple way for organisations, businesses, governments, community groups and individuals to take the first step toward a more connected and respectful Tasmania.
Welcome to the pledge
Every action, big or small, helps build a more connected and respectful Tasmania. Making a pledge is one simple way to show your commitment to the areas for action identified by the Tasmanian community through the Connected and Respectful Tasmania initiative.
Your pledge turns a shared vision into action. When more Tasmanians make small, practical commitments, those actions can add up to real change across our communities.
By pledging, you are showing others what is possible, helping build momentum around the things Tasmanians have told us matter, and becoming part of a growing movement for connection, respect, belonging and wellbeing.
Together, we can use these pledges to share ideas, celebrate what is already happening, connect people and organisations, and encourage more action towards a Connected and Respectful Tasmania.
What does making a pledge mean?
Making a pledge means committing to take action in one or more of the six Connected and Respectful Tasmania areas for action. Your action can be small, practical and suited to your capacity.
- Pledging is voluntary.
- You can choose one area or several areas for action.
These guidelines are designed to make getting involved easy. It is not about creating extra pressure or requiring a large commitment. It is about choosing one or more practical actions that feel achievable and meaningful for you, your organisation, your business, your agency, your community group or your household.
The six areas for action
The areas are listed below, with links to more detail.
- Fair access to services and support
- Inclusion for everyone
- Places to meet and ways to connect
- Power in communities

- A foundation of wellbeing
Make your pledge
To make your pledge, you can complete this short and simple form.
As part of the pledge, you can choose to be added to our list of supporters so that everyone can see the commitment you have made. This is optional.
Pledging is enough
Making a pledge is a meaningful contribution. If this is the only step you take right now, it still matters. There is no requirement to do more.
If you want to do more
In addition to making the pledge, you can get involved by:
- Sharing stories of amazing things going on in your neighbourhood, community, or workplace,
- Signing up to our mailing list to learn about other exciting things happening around Tasmania,
- Creating your own Connected and Respectful activity, project or event, and letting us know about it so we can support, amplify or partner with you for impact.
We welcome opportunities to partner or support actions and activities. If you have an idea you’d like to discuss, please Contact us.
